We’re glad you can join us on our season long discussion of our Five Dimensions of Well-Being.
Our journey has taken us to several Alignment Films that cover the following dimensions of well-being
HEALTH, FOOD, ENVIRONMENT, and last week we completed a series around WORK LIFE.
We shift this week to our fifth and final dimension of STEWARDSHIP with this episode called: It’s Time to Rediscover Stewardship.
To help us get started lets first look at the word STEWARDSHIP.
Author and consultant Peter Block defines Stewardship this way:
The choice to preside over the orderly distribution of power. He says it’s an idea which promises the means of achieving fundamental change in the way we govern our institutions. According to block, “Stewardship is to hold something in trust for another”. The underlying value of stewardship is service, says Peter Block.
We’ve included STEWARDSHIP as a key dimension of well-being because it’s all about the service of others which results in increased well-being for everyone.
We believe humanity is facing new and ever more complex problems. We’ve discussed many of these in this season.
If we’re to discover new solutions to the problems we all face, we all have to embrace the idea of becoming a steward for the earth and humanity.
To help us rediscover Stewardship, we have two leaders in this area that we think you’ll enjoy.
Our Alignment Process session is from our favorite series Iconoclasts from the Sundance Channel and the show we’ll be discussing is Desmund Tutu and Richard Branson.
