This week is part two of our series on FMGRADIO called: Speaking The Language of The Heart.
Last week we began our 5-part series with How To Express Yourself with Honesty and Respect. We began by discussing the hilarious movie: What About Bob?
In that episode we looked at specific communication styles that get in the way of heart aligned communication. Bob Wiley and Dr. Leo Marvin were perfect teachers for us.
Now that we’ve addressed styles that get in the way, this week we’re discussing how to improve connections with others.
Our featured alignment movie is The Imitation Game, staring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightly.
This film just recently won an Oscar for Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay among many other awards.
The Imitation Game is based on the real-life story of Alan Turing, a brilliant mathematician who works on cracking the Nazi Enigma code.
The Imitation Game is based on the real-life story of Alan Turing, a brilliant mathematician who works on cracking the Nazi Enigma code.
Alan Turing played by the talented Benedict Cumberbatch, is an eccentric visionary. He’s brilliant and knows it.
It’s clear Turing is more comfortable working alone and we quickly see that he has little interpersonal skills when working with others.
At times he’s insufferable, rigid in his language, and lacks any self-monitoring skills. Turing sometimes comes off as an arrogant know-it-all that doesn’t have time for the niceties of engaging with his fellow humans.
His colleagues refer to him as an “irascible genius” and they question whether he was “popular at school”.
Turing is tasked to work with a group of the most talented mathematicians in all of Great Britain.
While deciphering puzzles and math problems comes easy for Turing, working with others is clearly not his gift.
He doesn’t know how to crack the code of communicating with others.
Is communication with others an enigma for you?
Then tune into this week’s show as Sue-Anne and David discuss the Alignment Movie: The Imitation Game.
The Alignment Session for this episode is called: Relax and Let Go of Control.
